Hi everyone, It's been a while since I tried using the Radical Corpus listserv, mostly because everytime I send a message out it never wants to send. Let's give this another shot, though, shall we? (And if this works, be sure to point all of your friends towards http://radicalcorpus.chrmedia.org/ and tell them to sign up!) - DC May 11, 18, 25: Turning the Tide meetings Members of Turning the Tide will be present at Portside Books on Fridays this month in order to meet with any person interested in writing or helping distribute Corpus Christi's only radical left wing political magazine. Bring ideas, scoops, and any pieces you would like to submit. We're open to any and all suggestions, but we do need to get an issue out soon! May 13: Food Not Bombs meeting @ Portside Books Food Not Bombs will host its first get together at Portside Books to discuss the group's first feeding in Corpus Christi. This is the first time in several years that FNB members have come together in this city to attack homelessness and starvation head-on, so be sure to come and bring as many friends as possible. Food Not Bombs is a loose-knit group of independent collectives that serve free vegan and vegetarian food to others. Founded by Cambridge activists in the 1980s, Food Not Bombs is predicated upon the idea that world hunger could be averted if the nations of this world would spend money on feeding the hungry than defense measures. May 25: FIGHTING BACK: Pacifism and the Left Portside Books will host FIGHTING BACK, a discussion on the role of violence in the struggle for social change. When and where: MAY 25,2007 6:00 PM @ Portside Books 505 Water St. Corpus Christi, TX (behind the Colesium) Link to web flyer (for your favorite blog) Link to high resolution flyer (to print your own and distribute) |

Just an FYI, the November 25th Far Out Films screening of Lost Boys Sudan has been moved to December 2nd, same Tango time, same Tango place. We just thought since the 25th is so close to Thanksgiving, people would rather spend time with family then go out to see a documentary film (though we think otherwise). So please mark your calendars and we'll see you in December. |
